Hi, I'm Ramon Harris Jr., the founder of DetailSlate.
The idea started with something I kept hearing firsthand. As a regular customer of small, appointment-based businesses — mobile detailers especially — I heard the same frustrations come up again and again from the owners themselves. Pricing was the biggest one: fees that ate into already-thin margins, plans built for operations bigger than theirs, costs that climbed as soon as they added staff or features. Beyond that, clunky booking pages and missed messages were costing them real business — and some owners were still managing everything through Instagram DMs, texts, and phone calls simply because nothing on the market felt worth switching to.
DetailSlate began as a focused booking tool for mobile detailing businesses. As I spoke with more service businesses, it became clear the same gap existed well beyond detailing, so the platform grew to serve appointment-based businesses more broadly — booking, client records, payments, and AI tools that can answer questions and book appointments on a business's behalf, even outside business hours.
The idea behind DetailSlate is that an appointment is only one part of running a service business. Services, availability, client details, payments, and follow-up all shape the experience, but can end up scattered across different tools. DetailSlate brings those pieces together in one workspace so businesses can keep the work organized and clients have a clearer path to book.
Those conversations are also why DetailSlate is priced à la carte: a core subscription plus only the add-ons a business actually needs, instead of a bigger plan than most small operations will ever use. I've put everything into building this the right way, committing the time it takes to get it right. My goal is simple: software I'd be comfortable running my own business on, priced fairly, with a real person — me — behind it and answering support requests directly.
